George is Dead

George Carlin’s comedy was a staple in our house growing up.  My dad loved him, and mom loved to laugh.  His passing makes me feel like I’ve lost that one uncle who always has something provocative to say at the family Christmas party.  To this day, my brother and sisters shamelessly repeat/quote some of his acts.  My favorite of all time is the “I’m goin for a drive, ya’ll MotherFu&%$^# are going for a ride”

Joshua and I saw him a few years back.  He wasn’t just a comedian, he was thought provoking, timely, and overall, the best damnd comedian I have EVER seen.  We’ll miss you, George.

Dirt = Disney, go figure

Thanks to my brother-in-law, Tim, from California…I recieved a Netflix subscription for Christmas.  At first, I thought he had simply run out of ideas for gifts for me.  After all, I have only been married to his brother since I was 17.  By mid-January, I was HOOKED!!!!!  Sorry, Tim, you are the MAN!  Thousands of movies at my beck and call.  On my list this week, I have the complete first season of Dirt.  Just in case you are not familiar, Dirt is an FX television show starring Courtney Cox as a total bitch running a tabloid.  Monica Gellar she is not in this show.

I loved this show when I had cable, and seeing it again this week was fantastic.  The writing is original, it’s edgy and sexy.  After the second DVD today (I kinda had nothing to do), I noticed the production credits.  Carnahan, the Executive Producer, FX, the cable channel, and Buena Vista International Television= freakin DISNEY.

When I think of Disney, I think of Mickey and all the princesses, not Lucy Spiller and all the Dirt she can get on all her L.A. stars and wannabes.  Wow.  This ain’t your Daddy’s production house. 

Help me….I’m melting….melting…mel…

She is STILL in her home.  My mother has not left her side since she came home from the hospital except when her own sons were home for spring break.  He had a freakin week off and only manages to see his mother not even 24 hours.  The other one came for a while and went to church then went back to Cleveland…..Just disgusted.  I am trying really hard to stop and try to view this from another perspective, but I can’t.  Tyna throws things at my mom, she even tried to bite when mom was trying to help her from the the floor to her wheelchiar.

This may sounds a little like I am Whining, and in a way, I am, so prep yourself.  I was in the ER twice (Satruday evening and monday) with sever upper abdomial pain and cramping.  I had emergency gall bladder surgery Thurday morning.

 And the twisted sense of obligation I truly believe in coded into your DNA, she will  not get  over to see me before the staples are out. 

 And just when I think it couldn’t get any worse…My mom just called to inform me that the other 2 witches of Eastwick will be here Tuesday.  Can Gall Bladder be infectious?  Just asking.  I am not up for the 1,000 question game from Sissy, the why do you still help your mom Lindy, the broken hip, sister biting Tyna, and finally, my bi-polar she’s always right DNA giver, Susan.
